Q&A with Kevin Drum, Inventor of Catblogging

The Wikipedia cites Kevin Drum as the inventor of “catblogging.” I asked him some questions.
Did you invent the term “catblogging"?
Yes I did! I think it’s the biggest influence I’ve had on the blogosphere.
What is catblogging?
It’s just blogging that’s related to cats. Usually, it includes a picture of your own personal cat, though it doesn’t have to. It’s not as if there are any written rules about this, after all.
Do you still catblog?
Only occasionally.
Did you hear of the German pseudo-word “Katzencontent” (cat content)?
Nope, never heard of that.
Do you have cats? Do you like cats?
I have two cats, Inkblot and Jasmine. I grew up with cats, and can hardly stand to pass a cat on the street without trying to get it to come over and play with me. I adore cats.
What do you think about catblogging?
I think catblogging is a wonderful way to humanize the blogosphere. Everyone should do it!
... anything else to say on the subject?
Here’s a New York Times story about catblogging. And here are my three initial catblogging posts, which explains where the idea came from.
