Cats vs Dogs
There are some striking similarities between cats and dogs – they both have a tail, they both run on four legs, and they both manage to have others pay for their food – but I would say the differences prevail:
- When you throw a stick, the dog will eagerly chase it and bring it back to you. The cat would just arrogantly ignore you, realizing that if you would have wanted the stick, you wouldn’t throw it away.
- Dogs have the means to save their owner when fire breaks out at home (e.g. barking, jumping on owner’s bed). Cats have the means to run away.
- Dogs waggle the tail when they’re happy. Cats start to purr. (It is assumed that they could waggle their tail too, but they try to save energy.)
- Dogs stay loyal to their owner, and they might start to mourn should the owner die. Cats stay loyal to whoever happens to give them milk.
- Dogs can do tricks. It is unknown whether or not cats can do tricks, but in general experts agree if they could, they’d be too lazy anyway.
- You can throw a cat out of the window at 10 meters height, and the cat will not only land on its feet, but also survive. Don’t ever try that with a dog!
- Dog photos only appear on every 10,000th page on the internet. Some experts say cat photos appear on every 10th page online. Including this one.

Cats can indeed do tricks, if trained properly. I forget his name, but there is a Russina circus performer who I have seen twice, once at my local fair and once at Circus Circus in Las Vegas, who has a troupe of trained cats that walk tightropes, balance on basketballs, etc. It is pretty impressive. – Personman (Wednesday, Jan 4 2006)
Cats are easy to train with clicker training methods. They may even be easier to train than dogs. See store.yahoo.com/clickerpets/ge ... My cats will chase toys that are more their size. They will even chase sticks if they are small enough. Dogs will take a treat from almost anyone, and will completely forget that their owners exist if another dog is there to play.– Peter B (Wednesday, Jan 4 2006)
cats do tricks and CAN save there owner form a fire!it was on animal miricals when an apartment catched on fire and a cat warned there owner(witch was very sick, had some trouble knowing what was happening)about the fire.they both were fine after they made an execpe.cats are only loyal to those who are kind and patien to them, a dog can be a little too loyal, staying with even an abusive owner.a cat will leave quickly if they has such a owner.the only reson why more people like dogs than cats is because cats have ALWAYS had a bad rep for being to independent, witch in truth, most breeds of cat are Very dependent of humans. consinder this before you start saying “dogz are wWAY smarter and LoYALER than stupit mice eating Catz!"– katty (Monday, Mar 13 2006)
cats do waggle there tail to show that they do not want to be touched ,or they are uncomfortable.– Steven Willis (Tuesday, May 2 2006)
