Stopping the Napoleon Dynamite Pen

There are many things going on in the world which we might disagree of. Many important things, too. Stopping a talking pen isn’t one of them. Or is it?

Well, there’s an online petition to stop a Napoleon Dynamite pen which includes quotes from the movie. Because one of the quotes has Napoleon saying, “You guys are retarded.” Mellissa Hart, who started the initiative to rid the world of this pen, according to a Wethersfield Post article said “The schools must convey the message that it is not OK to marginalize students with intellectual disabilities.”

What does the attacked merchandiser, Jay Kamhi, say to his defense? “99.9 percent of people love the pen.” Apparently, Mellissa Hart belongs to the group 0.1% who beg to differ (or maybe she is the 0.1%, I don’t know).

Now if you feel like it, you can sign the petition... and if you’re looking for more politically correct merchandise, maybe you better go for the Napoleon costume.

Other quotes on the talking pen, by the way, are “Freakin’ idiot,” “Tina you fat lard, come get some dinner,” “Yesss,” and of course, “Sweeet.”
